There can be multiple reasons to why you are connected but dont have an actual internet connection. Please see the listed troubleshooting options below - you may have to run through multiple options.

Laptops

1. Missing login authentication.

It's a common issue that devices will sometimes not automatically open the login page for the DIS-Student wifi network.
To force the login page to appear, go to the following website: http://neverssl.com/

2. Check your time settings.

If your computer is set to a different timezone and clock than the local time settings in Copenhagen, you may experience connection issues. Some browsers will even indicate 'certificate errors', and that websites are unsafe to visit.

3. Static network settings.
If you use static network settings to access services that are usually blocked by Internet Service Providers (ISP), then we recommend to remove those and change back the settings to be automatic (DHCP). Using other settings than those provided by the DIS-Student Wi-Fi can prevent you from getting access.

The static changes usually involves using different DNS servers.

4. Clear browser data

Clear your browsing data. Corrupt files in the browser data can prevent you from accessing the internet.

5. Other browsers / add-ons

Try a different browser than you normally use (Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) as issues with add-ons in your default browser can cause issues getting proper internet access.

6. Temporary device glitch

Temporary glitches can often occur when a computer is on for weeks at a time. Restart your computer to get rid of any temporary glitches.
